In January 2000, the Reform and the Progressive Conservative parties got together to form a new party, the Canadian Conservative Reform Alliance. But when the word party was added, the movement acquired an unfortunate acronym:CCRAP.  Thus, the crappiest political party in Canada was born.

After numerous messy name changes and mergers they became the Conservative Party of Canada.

We think they had the name right the first time.
